Master of Computer Application (MCA)

Master of Computer Applications programme is a three-year course and is spread over a period of six semesters which enables the candidates to get familiar with the usage of computer using at-least five latest programming languages and a large number of applications. The course also develops the students capabilities in preparation of system software

The course is divided into four semesters. Subjects in the first two are mandatory while the student can opt for the electives of his choice in the third semester. Students can opt for dual specialization as per their background and area of interest. The specializations offered are available in the university website, and may undergo changes periodically. The fourth semester consists of project and the students are offered assistance in selecting a project, which will lead them to final placement

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION TO THE M. C. A. COURSE

Should have passed any recognized bachelors degree of minimum 3 years durations

Candidates who will be completing their U.G. degree programme during academic examinations are also eligible to apply for admission. However, their selection will be considered only if they successfully complete the degree programme and satisfy the above eligibility conditions at the time of admission. Candidates who do not fullfil the eligibility conditions on the day of admission will not be considered for admission.

The candidates should have completed 10+2+3 years of study before being admitted to the M. C. A. course.

Eligibility for the Admission of the Course

Candidates for admission to the first year course leading to the Degree of Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A) will be required to posses the qualification as per AICTE norms: A pass in any Degree with Mathematics at +2 level or any degree with at least one paper in Mathematics / Statistics at Degree Level. In case of SC/ST Candidates, a mere pass in any of the above Bachelor's Degree will be sufficient

Duration of the Course

This Course of Study shall be based on Semester System. This Course shall consist of six Semesters covering a total of three Academic Years. For this purpose, each Academic Year shall be divided into two Semesters; the first, third and fifth Semesters; July to November and the second, fourth and sixth Semesters; December to April. The Practical Examinations shall be conducted at the end of each Semester.
