SC&ST Committee

SC (Scheduled Caste) and ST (Scheduled Tribe) cells in NIIITM are essential for fostering equality and support for marginalized students. These cells provide vital academic and financial assistance to SC/ST students.  This helps them to overcome barriers to education and succeed in their studies. The cell address grievances related to discrimination and ensure a fair and inclusive campus environment. SC/ST cells ensure that colleges comply with government policies, advocating for the rights of these communities and contributing to their overall upliftment. Through their dedicated efforts, SC/ST cells play a crucial role in creating a more inclusive, supportive, and equitable educational landscape.

Objectives of the Cell

  1. Provide academic support, counselling, and mentorship to help SC/ST students excel in their studies.
  2. Serve as a platform for addressing and resolving grievances related to discrimination, harassment, or any form of unfair treatment against SC/ST students.
  3. Facilitate access to scholarships, stipends, and other financial aids to support the economic needs of SC/ST students.
  4. Promote a diverse, inclusive, and respectful campus environment that values and supports students from SC/ST communities.
  5. Organize workshops, seminars, and cultural events to raise awareness about the issues faced by SC/ST students and celebrate their heritage.
  6. Advocate for the rights and interests of SC/ST students within the institution and ensure compliance with relevant government policies and regulations.
